I bet you that before you looked at the following article, you had NO idea what any of these words meant. Of course, no one uses these words in every day language... but that's beside the point!
- cavort: v. to prance or caper about
- floccinaucinihilipilification: n. the estimation of something as valueless
- defenestrate: v. to throw someone out of a window (they actually have a word for this!)
- oxter: n. (Scotland and North England) the armpit
- quidnunc: n. a person who is eager to hear the latest news and gossip; a busybody
- yestreen: adv. during yesterday evening
- bucolic: adj. of, pertaining to, or suggesting an idyllic rural life
- syzygy: n. an alignment of three celestial objects, as the sun, the earth, and the moon
- frabjous: adj. wonderful, elegant, superb
- logy: adj. lacking physical or mental energy (every day of my life ;) )
- diurnal: adj. of or belonging to the daytime
- bunkum: n. insincere speechmaking by a politician intended merely to please local constituents
- schlemiel: n. an awkward and unluck person for whom things never turn out right (so, me?)
- caseous: adj. of or like CHEESE
- spondulicks: n. $$$$$$$$$$$$$; money/cash
