Can Other Animals Dream Like Humans Do?

Research shows that everyone that reaches the R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of the sleep cycle has dreams, whether they remember them or not. 

So what about animals, do they dream like we do? It's not like we can just ask them, so how can we tell? 

I have seen many videos of pets seemingly dreaming, and I have witnessed both dogs and cats appearing to dream, so I know that something is going on when they are asleep. 

Researchers wondered the same thing so they compared data from tests on humans sleeping brains with those of animals and the results are pretty clear, animals do dream.
