The Invasion Of The Terror Birds

When you think of ancient creatures that strike fear into the minds of animals near them, birds are not usually the first thing to come to mind. 

However, around 5 million years ago a new and scary predatory bird traveled from South America to North America, most likely following its fleeing prey. 

This giant, carnivorous, flightless bird has been dubbed "The Terror Bird" and it really does live up to its name! 

Standing at nearly 10 feet tall and weighing over 300 lbs, this bird was not something you wanted tweeting at you from the tree outside your window.
