The World's Greatest Ape

You have most likely heard the term "Great Apes" and wondered what was so great about them. 

Well for one thing, "Great Apes" include all hominids which means it includes us humans as well as orangutans, gorillas and chimpanzees! 

So when science says there is an even greater ape, you have to take notice and hear this news for yourself.

This ancient ape is known as Gigantopithecus and it was probably about twice the size of a modern gorilla. 

What can we learn from this massive cousin of ours from the way it lived and why it disappeared?
