Where Do Brazil Nuts Come From?
Brazil nuts are these huge, almost alien looking nuts that have a buttery taste and can be found in most grocery stores in the U.S.
Judging by the name, I would say that these nuts come from Brazil and that is not wrong, but it is not where the majority of them come from.
Bolivia is actually the biggest producer of Brazil nuts in the world and one area in particular is basically the king of Brazil nut production.
These nuts come from a fruit that grows in extremely tall trees that are native to the area and their journey from tree to can or box is pretty interesting.
Check out the video below to learn how these strange nuts make their way from high in the trees of Bolivia to your local grocery store.
